Avignon Museum Unveils “Layers of Silence”

The Avignon Museum of Contemporary Heritage has announced a new experimental exhibition titled “Layers of Silence”, opening this summer in the historic center of the city. The project aims to explore the relationship between medieval architecture and modern digital interpretation, blending physical artifacts with interactive installations.

The exhibition will feature a series of reconstructed visual environments inspired by archival fragments from the region, reinterpreted through generative design and spatial projection. Visitors will move through a sequence of rooms designed to progressively shift from traditional museum curation into immersive, data-driven storytelling.

According to the curatorial team, the goal is to question how cultural memory is preserved and transformed in a digital era. The exhibition is expected to run for three months and will include collaborations with European digital artists and design studios working at the intersection of heritage and technology.
